CEO update: April 2026
Did someone say, 'I can't believe it is almost May!'?
The year is certainly marching along at a very rapid pace with the changes that are occurring across all areas of the ecosystem where children and families are.
Front of mind for us are two key pieces at the moment.
- Changes to the NDIS and how this will impact the children, families and the practitioners working with them.
- Thriving Kids - what do we still need to know, and what will those missing parts look like.
We continue to ask questions, seek answers and share what we learn. It is critical that we are able to amplify the voices of families and practitioners during these changes, so look to you to share your experiences with us.
Consultations are open!
Engage Victoria are seeking input into the next State Disability Plan and the Victorian Autism Plan 2027-2031.
There are a number of ways you can be involved, including a survey, in person forums, a submission, video recording. (Consultations close 17 July).

Member forum coming up soon!
ECIA VIC/TAS will be hosting a member forum to discuss items to include in our submission, so look out for the date to attend.
This will be an important consultation to contribute to given the changes coming with Thriving Kids.
Did you know?
Our website can be translated into many other languages just by selecting the language you want in the top right hand corner. Any of the text on our pages is then translated. This makes it so easy to help families understand what best practice in ECI is, the Key Worker model and all the other topics listed. Just share the link with them and they can select their home language.
There are some areas that this doesn't apply to including PDF documents and the training modules.
As always, please reach out to us if there are issues you would like to raise.
